The material a tent is made from can be important, with each offering different benefits

Cotton is natural and free from plastics, its highly breathable, hardwearing and when it gest wet the fibres swell and create a natural waterproof seal. A cotton tent will be heavier

Polycotton is part natural and part man made. It contains plastics and is not as breathable as pure cotton but it’s still tough. A polycotton tent will be lighter than a pure cotton tent.

Polyester is man made and strong but it is a totally plastic based fabric. It’s not very breathable but it is lightweight. These tents may need reproofing during their lifespan.
