It is common for some feathers to appear through small gaps in the fabric of a new down product. Don't panic it isn't usually a fault with the product. Down is naturally very fine and can work its way through fine gaps in the material. This usually settles after a few weeks.

What should you do if down feathers are poking through your jacket or sleeping bag?

Firstly, don't pull feathers out, this can cause holes in your jacket. Instead try to prise feathers back into the jacket or sleeping bag. You can do this from the opposite side to where the feather is appearing. Once the feather is back inside the jacket, gently rub the area with your fingers which seals any small gaps in the fabric.
