Several of our brands including Patagonia and Rab use a range of recycled fabrics such as polyester and nylon. These materials when recycled are much better for the environment. Recycled polyester is easily sourced from discarded plastic bottles (one of the planet’s largest plastic polluters). When recycled in this manner, recycled polyester not only reuses ready-made plastic but also cuts Co2 emissions by 59% when compared with virgin polyester.

To answer the question, however, yes. Recycling processes have come a long way in the last few years as companies have realised the importance of ethical, eco-friendly practices, and thanks to new innovations in production we believe that recycled materials such as those found on the outside of insulated jackets and waterproofs by well-known manufacturers such as Patagonia and Rab easily perform to the same standard as materials made new.
